At our studio we want you to have as much time as possible to practice and learn as well as to get enough attention from our instructors, so we limit our classes to ensure that everyone gets their own pole, silk, hoop, or sling. Our pole classes max out at 9 people, while our aerial classes are much smaller, with a limit of 5 people.
We have mats available for use, but you are more than welcome to bring your own!
For our pole classes we recommend wearing shorts and a t-shirt or tank top. For aerial class we suggest more coverage with leggings and a shirt that covers your stomach and underarms. We do NOT allow bracelets, rings, or dangly jewelry in any class for safety reasons. Please avoid lotions or body oils 24 hours prior to class as they damage equipment and also pose a safety risk, as they can make you more slippery!
For your first few weeks of Pole Fundamentals you are more than welcome to wear sweatpants or leggings...but after that you will find that wearing shorts allows for a much easier time, as we rely on our skin to stick to the poles. Bicycle shorts are a great alternative for those who are not yet feeling comfortable enough to expose their whole leg.
We have 2-3 classes a month designated to wearing heels! For our normal classes we do not encourage them, as it takes a significant amount of extra ankle strength (which you will be working on building).
No! That is what you are here to gain! While we can easily disguise our classes as sexy, fun dance classes, the reality is... This is a fitness class! All of our classes feature a targeted warm up, followed by conditioning on the equipment to get your muscles ready to work. We start from the ground up and build new moves each week as you gain strength.
While we are a studio of mainly women, we do welcome male students!
While you have to be 18+ to be in our pole studio, we DO offer kids aerial classes for ages 8 and up! You can check out all the info on our Kids Aerial & Fitness page.
We do not offer daycare, but you can check our schedule and see if there is a kids class running at the same time as the class you are wanting to take!
We do allow makeups, but we ask that if you are not going to be able to attend a class, you let your instructor or the studio know ahead of time when possible. For more info on our cancellation/late policies, you can visit our Etiquette & Policies page.
Pole fundamentals is where we like students to start. In this class, you will work on everything up to inverts. If you are already inverting, we suggest taking Applied Pole next. If you are already strong in moves like butterfly, shoulder mount, and brass monkey, then you are welcome to sign up for Pole Mastery. We ask that you contact us if you are still unsure, and our Pole/Aerial manager will reach out you to discuss what skills you are currently working on and where you should be.
Our aerial classes are mixed level, so all are welcome!
"I like having the opportunity to learn different styles from the different instructors. There is nothing to dislike about Polelevation! I have loved my experience so far."
